Crimson Cord Project

About Us

Gospel centered first

The Crimson Cord Project is a nonprofit organization created to serve women in Southeast Asia who are leaving the red-light districts and associated work. Our mission is to reach these women with the gospel and offer them meaningful work that provides a good wage.

Everything we do starts with Jesus. Each woman in our program is welcomed into a community of praise and worship, given the opportunity to hear the gospel and accept Christ, and discipled by mentors who walk alongside her. Alongside that, her physical needs are met so she can rebuild her life with dignity.

Who leads the work

Our work on the ground is led by a local couple who came to faith after God miraculously healed their infant daughter. That moment changed everything for them. Both had already spent years working with organizations that helped women leave the red-light districts, and today they bring that experience, and their love for Christ, to every woman Crimson Cord serves. To protect their safety, we don't share their names publicly.

What we make

The women at DreamStitch turn saris into new, beautiful products: purses, backpacks, blankets and more. Each piece is handcrafted with quality stitching, vibrant colors and rich fabrics. Just as a sari is given new purpose, we believe Jesus gives each of these women a new life and a new purpose.

How your donation creates hope: 1. You give. 2. Your donation purchases handmade items made by the women we support. 3. Women receive safe, fair-paid work in a gospel-centered workspace. 4. Items are shipped to the United States. 5. The items are donated locally to a U.S. nonprofit. Crimson Cord Project is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Where Your Money Goes

Every dollar accounted for

Crimson Cord Project is a U.S. charity. DreamStitch (DreamStitch.net) is a small business in Southeast Asia, built to give women leaving the red-light districts and associated work a safe place to learn a skill and earn a steady wage.

How it works

  1. You give to Crimson Cord Project.
  2. We use your gift to buy handmade goods from DreamStitch.
  3. Making those goods gives the women real work and a fair wage.
  4. The goods come to the United States, and we donate them to local nonprofits to continue the cycle of aid.

One gift does good twice: it creates work for women rebuilding their lives overseas, and it meets real needs in our own communities.

Why we do it this way

We want everything we do to be above board and fully legal, both here and overseas. Buying goods from DreamStitch, rather than sending cash gifts to a business, keeps us within the laws of both countries and keeps every dollar accountable.

Our promise to you

Your donation, minus credit card processing fees, buys handmade goods from DreamStitch, which we give away to those in need.

We don't sell the goods, and we don't pay anyone on the U.S. side a salary. Every order and every giveaway is recorded in our books.
